Social Media Day is right around the corner and there is no better way to celebrate than through your job search efforts. Presented by Mashable, Social Media Day will be taking place on June 30th and aims to recognize the digital revolution that is constantly happening around us. In honor of this day, we have put together a few tips for controlling your online presence for your job search, take a look:

Doing so will allow you to see what potential employers see when they Google you, which will give you a better idea of what aspects of your online presence you need to work on.

Instead, use these tools to your advantage by showing your tech-savvy skills. - Do some basic search engine optimization: Boosting your name in the Google rankings is a great way to get your name out there. In order to make sure you are boosting positive results on Google, it is a good idea to take some time to do some basic search engine optimization. Simply linking to your content on your different social media platforms will help boost your Google rankings in a large way.
